This year, we’re incredibly proud to celebrate a major milestone: 10 years of Hardy’s Solar serving the Tweed region. What began as a small, family-run business with just three team members has grown to a crew of 19, each one committed to helping our local community switch to solar and reduce their energy costs.
Our Location and Growth
Our showroom is located right across from the new Tweed Valley Hospital. It feels surreal to see how far we’ve come, and we’re grateful every day for the support from our clients, friends, and neighbors. Competing with nationwide solar companies with huge marketing budgets is no small feat, but we’ve found that focusing on personal connections and trust has made all the difference.
One of the things we’re most proud of is that most of our business comes through referrals. To us, there’s no greater compliment than a neighbor or friend recommending us. We’re not interested in being the biggest solar company around—we just want to be the trusted, go-to team for the Tweed community.
As a local myself, having grown up here, it’s a joy to give back to the area that’s given so much to me and my family. My wife Courtney and I have always been involved in the community, whether through our own sporting interests or by sponsoring local clubs and teams. We’re so thankful to have received over 140 five-star Google reviews from clients who value the hard work and dedication our team pour into every project.
A Special Giveaway to Celebrate
To celebrate this milestone, we wanted to give back in a big way. We recently ran a giveaway for a free 10kW solar system, valued at $10,000. The lucky winners, Sami and Dave Harding, shared that the timing couldn’t have been better, given rising power costs.

From the moment our name was drawn, Jackson was in contact with us within a couple of hours to congratulate us on our win, and our new solar power system was installed within 10 days.
The whole process from initial conversations with Jackson & Courtney to installation with his incredible team was seamless. The boys who installed our system were great to deal with, arrived on time and answered any questions that we had. They were also kind enough to answer any questions our children had, who sat front and centre to watch the initial installation process before heading off to school that morning.
Once the system was fully installed, Jackson ran us through the tech side of things including logging into our app and being able to see a list of multiple features such as our solar production & consumption, earnings and even how our solar is helping the reduction of Co2.
Since having the system installed our daily electricity costs have dropped dramatically and we are actually looking forward to seeing our new everyday savings on our upcoming electricity bill.
